beyond barriers

counseling and consulting

welcome

My name is Chélynn Randolph and I am the owner of Beyond Barriers Counseling and Consulting, LLC. At Beyond Barriers Counseling and Consulting I work to create an environment where you can let down your guard and be your most authentic self without fear of judgement. Whether you need to process childhood trauma, work on your relationships with loved ones, or you want help managing the stress of everyday life, I can help.

a place for all

Beyond Barriers Counseling and Consulting, LLC is strongly committed to the promotion of an inclusive and enriching environment with a theoretically informed foundation to aid in cultural sensitivity, equitable best practices and valuing intersecting identities. Beyond Barriers Counseling and Consulting provides quality services through the constant enhancement of our culturally aware therapist in the current and emerging multicultural and social justice-oriented trends and topics. This enrichment consists of taking advantage of the latest knowledge and training in the field and opportunities to celebrate and learn from various cultures and backgrounds. I strive to provide a space that breaks barriers for all voices and experiences to be heard with consideration to individual identities including, but not limited to, race and ethnic membership, nationality, gender identity and expression, sexual identity, age, socioeconomic status, physical and mental ability, veteran status, political affiliation and religious/spiritual beliefs.

about me

I was born and raised in Greenville, NC and received my undergraduate education there as well at East Carolina University (Go Pirates!). I graduated from East Carolina University in 2016 with a B.S. in Family and Community Services with a concentration in Family Studies. In 2018, I graduated from Appalachian State University with a M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy. I’m currently a student in the Florida State University Marriage and Family Therapy doctoral program where I study the barriers to accessing therapy in communities of color and how to overcome them.

My work as a therapist revolves around helping individuals, couples, and families tap into their inner resources to create the tools and coping mechanisms they need to live healthy, stress free lives. I primarily use the solution-focused and narrative therapy models which fall under the postmodern theoretical umbrella. As a postmodern oriented therapist I believe that the client is the expert on their lives; this means that my role is not to just tell you what’s best for you or your relationships but to be more of a co-collaborator in your therapeutic process. It is my job to work with you to create coping mechanisms and strategies that help you take back control of your life.

When I’m not doing work for school or seeing clients I enjoy listening to music and podcasts, video chatting with friends and family, and hanging out with my 1 year old dog Harold. I look forward to meeting and working with you!

“Be healthy and take care of yourself, but be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you.”
